What LADDER English is

LADDER English is an educational learning platform for AQA GCSE English Language and Literature. It is designed to support learning: teaching, practice, guided writing and feedback.

What LADDER English is not

• It is not a substitute for safeguarding professionals.
• It is not a medical, psychological or mental-health service.
• It is not an emergency or crisis service, and should not be relied upon for urgent help.
• It is not monitored continuously, so a message sent here may not be read by a person straight away.

If you are worried about yourself or someone else

Please speak to a trusted adult. That might be a parent or carer, a teacher, or your school's designated safeguarding lead — every school in the UK has one, and it is their job to help. A GP or another qualified professional can also help.

If someone is at immediate risk of harm, contact the emergency services or an appropriate urgent-help service straight away rather than using this platform.

Telling an adult is not getting anyone in trouble, and it is not an overreaction. It is the fastest route to actual help — which is something a study platform cannot give you.

How LADDER supports safeguarding

• The AI Tutor is scoped to GCSE English study and applies additional safety checks to messages.
• Where a message suggests a serious concern, the student is encouraged to speak to a trusted adult, and the relevant information may be recorded for safeguarding review.
• Students are asked not to share personal or contact details, and cannot message one another anywhere in the platform.
• Where LADDER provides tutor contact, it happens inside the platform and is logged, never through private channels.
• There is no advertising, and we do not sell student data.

These measures exist to help point a student toward appropriate human support. They do not replace it, and they are not a monitoring or protection service.

Raising a concern with us

Parents, carers, teachers and schools can raise a safeguarding concern by emailing tutorenglishelevate@gmail.com with the word SAFEGUARDING in the subject line. Concerns are reviewed by the operator and, where required, escalated to the appropriate person or agency in line with applicable law. Please do not use email for anything urgent — contact the emergency services or your local children's services instead.

To be established before launch: a formal written safeguarding policy and formal designated safeguarding arrangements, including a named designated safeguarding lead, reporting thresholds, escalation routes and record-keeping. No designated safeguarding lead is named on this page because those arrangements have not yet been formally established.
